Newest Happenings

We have been talking to everyone we know about Citizens for Seinfeld, and support has been plentiful. Thank you all.

Since we mostly talk to people about it in person, print petitions are now in circulation. Email us if you are willing to help out by collecting signatures, and we'll mail out a few copies of the petition for you to pass around ASAP. Just talk to your friends about it; everyone loves Seinfeld.

In other news, I was recently interviewed by Mert of the Community Free Press for a story about Citizens for Seinfeld that you should be seeing soon.

Finally, please bear with our bare site. I am working on fleshing it out a bit.

This is it.

So, after Seinfeld finally came on tonight after a MLB game and the "News @ 9", they have a SCHEDULED TEST of the Emergency Alert System. Who schedules these? Perhaps the programming director? Perhaps. If that is the case, one thing is for certain: They are messing with us. It's war.

What we're doing, why we're doing it.

We are a group of concerned citizens who love Seinfeld. As such, we are outraged at KSFX's recent scaling back of Seinfeld episodes, and growing number of According to Jim episodes. Seinfeld showings, unfortunately, have been fairly sparse as of late, while every nook and cranny of air-time has been filled with According to Jim. The problem is: Jim Belushi isn't funny. According to Jim is an unoriginal, derivative program, which was in fact canceled by home network ABC unceremoniously. Seinfeld, on the other hand, was an original, ground-breaking comedy that went off the air in its prime with dignity in the late 1990's. The writing was witty. The characters were winning. There is no comparison between the two shows.

As it has been said: "It just ain't right". We have attempted to settle this peacefully and behind-the-scenes. We were met with a rude, condescending email from the programming director. They “won't dump Jim”. But, why not? In the email, the programming director also made mention of the amount of money they make from their local news. There is no doubt that According to Jim is a cheaper show to syndicate than Seinfeld, because it is obviously nowhere near the same caliber of show, which would make it seem as though switching from Jerry to Jim is a way of cutting costs to increase profits for station owners. In effect, they are putting quantity over quality, and their own interests before their viewers'.

We won't stand for it. We tried doing it the nice way, now it's time to take it to the streets. Sign the petition. Email the programming director. Write a letter to the editor of the local newspaper. Bottom line, get out there and support the show which has brought you so many laughs over the years.
